Cracked Cymbal

To my huge annoyance, i just noticed a small crack on my Sabian O-Zone crash. Its just outside the edge of one of the holes.....its small but im thinking how on earth it got there and whether it will spread??? can they be repaired without changing the sound???

So you bought an Oh Oh Zone? [img]wink.gif[/img] When I held it, it felt thin so I isn't my choice but I hope for you that it is falling in the one year warranty of Sabian. Sometimes you get lucky and then they replace your cymbal if it is even older. It depends also on the shop and the people who are working in the shop of course but I have very good experiences with Sabian.
If you haven't any warranty anymore you can drill a small hole after the crack so it won't crack further but it is a delicate thing to do and the chance that it stops there isn't quite big. Besides it sounds always different then without a crack but on the other hand the Oh Oh Zone does sound different anyway [img]smile.gif[/img] [img]wink.gif[/img]
